We produce a variety of Horsechestnut shells, all are life size. The shells are made in clay which is then glazed and hand painted. Some have removable nuts and some have lids which can sit on top of the shell or can be displayed alongside the main shell, as if it has fallen from the tree and split open.
Some of the shells have stalks, these are cast in pewter which is then hand painted. The metal stalks add strength and also enables us to join multiple shells together on a pewter branch, so we offer both double and triple shells on a cast pewter branch.

Whole shell closed. This piece has a stalk attached which is made from cast pewter and then hand painted. The shell is life size, between 6 to 8cm and cast in clay then glazed and hand painted (RHS).

This piece has a shell and a small cupped leaf joined together onto a pewter stalk.
(Other shells joined to leaves are available – prices on request).
The half shell with removable nut and lid, (6.5 x 5.5cm) and the small cupped leaf, (10 x10cm),are attached to a pewter stalk which is hand painted. The shells and leaves are life size and cast in clay then glazed and hand painted. The baby version HCB014 of this piece is to the RHS of the image.
